Gwen was inspired to create this painting for St. Michael's in 2011. Her daughter attends second grade at the school. She comes from a long line of artists and writers including Nathaniel Hawthorne, the author of the American classic, The Scarlet Letter. She makes her home in Newport as an artist, writer, and educator.
