Description

Visit the Providence Mounted Command at their stable facility located in Roger Williams Park in Providence.  The stable supervisor, Andrea Russo, will begin with a walk-through of the stable facility to meet the police horses.  The tour is followed by a riding demonstration by one of the Mounted Officers in the indoor arena. The complete program will last about 45 minutes and your guests are welcome to use the grounds afterward for a picnic lunch.

The Mounted Command unit is comprised of six officers; three on day shifts and three working nights, as well as a competent civilian staff of Animal Handlers. There are nine mounts.

Mounted officers patrol the Down city area, Wickenden and Thayer Streets, Federal Hill, Broad Street and Roger Williams Park. They are routinely deployed into the nine districts of the department where they are a welcomed sight in all of Providence's communities. The horses which are sometimes used for crowd control purposes, also serve as the main public relations tool of the Department.

This Live Event Item offers Absentee Bidding.
