Description

This original watercolor piece, “Safe with Me” was created when Jalyn was asked to create music related art for an exhibit put together for The Art of Autism in Carpinteria, California.  The exhibit debuted at Mr. Musichead on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California before traveling to Seven Sisters Gallery in Morro Bay and Bell Arts Factory in Ventura, California.  Upon returning to Tennessee, it was included in the Diverse Arts of Monroe County at The Emporium, home of the Knoxville Arts & Culture Alliance. 

Special Instructions

Jalyn is an 11-year-old artist from Sweetwater, Tennessee who began drawing as a toddler while simultaneously receiving services for a speech and language delay.  At the age of four Jalyn was diagnosed with autism, but his interest in drawing was used to develop his language and social skills, and at the age of six, he began exhibiting his work and at the age of nine, he began speaking publicly about the positive impact of the visual arts on the lives of people with disabilities.


Today, Jalyn is a member of the Artists Association for Monroe County, the Knoxville Arts & Culture Alliance, Tennessee Arts and Crafts Association, Tennesseans for the Arts, the Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville, and is a member of the VSA TN visual artist incubator Handprints.

Available for pick-up the night of the Live event at the Factory, or after the event at the Brown Center in Nashville, TN. Long distance bidders will be responsible for shipping cost.
