Graham Charity Ball 2014! Online Charity Auction Ends TODAY At Midnight!

Starting on February 15, 2014, Graham Charity Ball 2014 will be auctioning off a number of fun and unique items to bid on to raise money for our FOUR CHARITIES

Our Daily Bread, Back Pack Buddies, Virginia's House and The Freedom Care Warrior Project. We want to introduce you to our charities and the reason they need our help and support.

Our Daily Bread: They were originally intended to provide food for school children after school stopped service in June and before school began again in late August. Later it became apparent that there were adults in the community who needed this service also so the program was expanded. Transportation also became an issue. Our Daily Bread now runs 4 bus routes to pick up their attendees. Growing to fill the need they are always in need of funding.

Graham BackPack Buddies: They started serving the students of Graham, Texas in the 2008-2009 school year as "a community effort to eliminate childhood hunger." This program has served 11,754 bags of food to 296 students in the past 5 years. The program purchases food from the Wichita Area Food Bank through the Childhood Hunger Program. A note: During December 2013 their office and warehouse was broken into and office equipment and food was stolen; putting a severe strain on this great program.

The Freedom Care Warrior Project: They deliver direct support to physically and psychologically injured combat veterans through innovative, outdoor-based therapies and pioneering research. The project strives to provide its participants with therapeutic programs which results in measurable and sustainable improvement. These programs are designed to re-enable and re-energize participants ad provide the support and self-confidence necessary to maximize long-term recovery. It should be noted that the money donated to Freedom Care Warrior project stays in our local community and serves our local Veterans. A small thing for us to donateA for people that gave so much.

Virginia's House: Started in 1992 as the Young County Family Resource Center. This Family Resource Center was established as a Children's Advocacy Center by a group of concerned community leaders who saw the problematic cycle of violence within families and wanted to be a part of the solutions to see it end. Virginia's House has become an umbrella organization that contains four individual child-focused programs which include: Children's Advocacy Center, CASA-Court Appointment Special Advocate, Mentor/Prevention Programs, and Crime Victims Assistance. Virginia's House strives to help children and their families who suffer from all types of abuse, as well as help children in situations of risk. A wonderful program that has helped so many children; the need is great.
