Description
Kenne Goat Cheese is part of a visual survey of local food by Michael Lamotte.
From the photographer, Michael Lamotte - Kenne (pronounced “kennay”) is a farmstead cheese made entirely from
goat’s milk – the word “kenne” is the term the area’s early
inhabitants, the Miwoks, used for “one.” It has a dense, creamy
texture and a delicate wrinkly rind, which are meant to conjure the
Italian soft-ripened cheeses. The high quality of the milk is perfectly
showcased in the paste’s mild, slightly earthy flavors. kenne pairs
well with beer, champagne, fruit and nuts.

Michael Lamotte is a San Francisco based food photographer who started a project in the form of a food blog called From the Source. He is not only a photographer but is also passionate about food and the local food movement. His blog, www.from-the-source.com features black and white images of products from small, local producers along with a link to both the vendor and the source, hence the name.
Michael’s hope is this project and blog will help to promote small, local food purveyors and through an aesthetic depiction, foster a deeper level of appreciation for the products he photographs.
