Up to 4 people will be scientist-for-a-day and analyze their own DNA. Laguardia parents, Yumi Kasai and Ross Cagan are biology professors at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and specialize in genomics and DNA. Appropriately garbed in lab coat and gloves in a top science laboratory, you will analyze one of your own genes using techniques at the cutting edge of biology. You will amplify your own DNA and prepare it for sequencing, be guided through reading your own gene's sequence, and be taught how to read a small part of your genetic blueprint. Recommended for Laguardia high school students, parents or faculty; no prior experience necessary. Date to be mutually agreed upon by all.
