Starting on March 27, 2014, Late Onset Tay- Sachs Research and Education Foundation will be auctioning off a number of fun and unique items to bid on to raise money for our organization - and the more items we have the more money we can raise, so we're asking for your help.

Late Onset Tay-Sachs is a rare genetic disease that affects the neuromuscular as well as the nervous system.  Tay-Sachs affects infants and young children as well as young adults.  It is fatal in small  children. It truly is a heartbreaking disease. We have a test to detect the disease but nothing as of now to treat or cure it.  We are doing medical research in the area of gene therapy to hopefully end the suffering of those affected. Since this is a rare disease we are almost totally dependent on private donations for the medical research that needs to be done. This disease can affect any family who are carriers of the defective gene. It is a recessive gene so both parents need to be carriers to have a child with Tay-Sachs.  We need to find that CURE!  This disease can strike any family, no gender or ethnic group is immune.
