Kill Your Idol is the next-door neighbor to another South Beach favorite, Lost Weekend.  Too artsy to be a dive, KYI dabbles in the abstract, with a Bruce Lee statute smack in the middle of the bar wall and mounted at a 90-degree angle, art everywhere, and even a projector light show that interacts with the still art on the wall across from the bar.  Local rock bands fittingly appear on the small stage regularly as well.  And while this bar nails down trend, they don’t charge a cover, and the drink prices are very reasonable for Miami Beach, even after the nightly drink specials end at 10p.m.  Be sure to get there early (that’s 8p.m., when this later-night spot unlocks the doors) and borrow some of the board games behind the bar while you wait for the live set. Also, if you want some late night bar chow, bartenders will be glad to place an order for you at the Alibi, housed next door in Lost Weekend, and have it delivered to your barstool.
