We had such a great show last weekend with Brazilian electro-bossa pioneers Bossacucanova.  The band left behind a signed copy of their latest CD Our Kind of Bossa for our auction.  This is actually an import Brazilian version of the CD (released in the US in 2014 by Six Degrees Records) - so it's Nossa Onda e Essa!...

Music that completely conjures Brazilian bliss from the Rio-based trio, who take the classic heart of cool 1960s bossa nova, and make it new again with fresh, groove-filled electronic wizardry, always treating the original spirit with the utmost respect.  Bossacucanova's approach to Euro-Brazilian fusion is unique, in part because the trio treats bossa nova as the main dish and the breakbeats, electronica and other embellishments as garnishes, rather than the other way around.

This CD is notable for the caliber of special guests - here is a musical house party that brings together many of their heroes, inspirations, friends and family. Bossa nova legend Roberto Menescal (Márcio the bass player's father); the iconic vocal group Os Cariocas; MPB scion Maria Rita; guitarist Oscar Castro Neves; Emilio Santiago; and so many others. It also sees the band focusing equally on Brazil's other homegrown conconction: samba.
