YOU HAVE A VOICE!

YOUR VOICE IS POWERFUL!

YOUR VOICE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!

Community-Word Project believes that all kids have the right to a learning environment that teaches them how to think, not what to think. CWP transforms the classroom from a place where students have to be, to one where they want to be.

We achieve this through multi-disciplinary arts residencies for NYC public schools and a comprehensive Teaching Artist training program. In our classroom, two professionally-trained Teaching Artists work in collaboration with classroom teachers to help students develop leadership, creative, and literacy skills. Founded in 1997, CWP has taught over 17,000 kids the skills to be successful in school and in life.

“Community-Word Project encouraged me to go beyond what people think I can do. I am pushing hard to be successful in school and go on to college.”
— Terrell, CWP 8th grade student
