Hollywood Hill Saddle Club Benefit Hunter/Jumper Horse Show and Auction to Benefit Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center.

Little Bit provides horse related therapy for disabled people of all ages. As generally stated in their mission statement:  Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center improves the bodies, minds, and spirits of children and adults with disabilities through equine based therapy and activities . . . (Http:LittleBit.org). From my time volunteering I can say that the employees and volunteers are compassionate and careful in helping their clients meet those goals.

Horse therapy, however, is exepnsive. Just maintianing the horses and grounds safely is a huge bill every year. That is why Hollywood Hill is pitching in to help this non-profit help those who benefit so much from the bonds they build with the horse and overcoming challenges that even those who are not disabled find problematic at times.

The auction is being held at a hunter/jumper horse show at Hollywood Hill Saddle Club in Woodinville, WA (see HollywoodHilllSaddleClub.com for more information on the show and the address/directions and a google map).  The Judge is a well respected member of the horse community, as is Little Bit. The event is being well publicized and appeals to different groups of riders, so we expect a good turn out of riders, trainers, friends and onlookers.

Each auction item will have a starting bid. After that you can bid as much as you want to, as long as it is more than $5.00 above the last bid.

For each item there is also a "buy it now" price. If you simply want the item you circle that, take it to the auction manager at the show, and get it right away. If you have to leave before the auction closes, you need not be present to win; we will work out a way to deliver items afterwards.

At the moment we will only be accepting cash and checks, but are working on a way to accept credit cards as well.  Stay tuned on that.

So come out and see what we end up with. I have just started the page so there is a backlog of items to put in, but  I will try to keep everything up to date as soon as possible. We have about 45 items so far, and counting.

You never know what might strike your fancy. An Oriental rug? Some dog day care? A horse massage?  Hopefully we will have a good array of items for you to choose from that will interest you.

A note about the time. This page doesn't allow you to put in the time correctly.  The auction will be held during the horse show from approximately 8:30 am to about 3:00 pm, PDT.  Also, the auction will be divided into two parts, one in the morning for the hunters, and one in the afternoon for the jumpers, so that nobody has to come early or stay late. Many of the items are in both slots, but some are different. If the item is designated by a number, it is in the morning auction, by a letter, it is in the afternoon period.

You will recieve a reciept thanking you for your purchase, with the tax ID information, at the time you pay for your heart's desire, whether it be at the auction, or afterwards if you weren't able to stay.

I hope you can join us to ride in the show (the profits from the show also go to Little Bit), but if not, and you are in the area, stop by. We expect to have 20-25 items in each session. My only request is that you park outside the main parking to allow for horse trailers.
