From Kimberely's Rugs (Kimberleysrug.com) is this Jhalar 100% wool pile, handmade, burgundy breast plate or strap. It is 10" at the widest and 3'1" long. Note that while it has tassels which appear to be original to the piece, there has been a recent addtion of some pieces of fabric at the ends that were probably used by someone to tie this to their horse.

I did the best I could with the lighting to give you a sense of how bright or dark it is. The red is deep and most of the design is balck, with some white. It would be striking on a white or light grey horse as well as a black one.  Of course, it could also nicely grace your home.

These are not rare, but not particualarly common either.
