Description
Herati rugs are primarily handwoven by nomadic tribal weavers in northwest Afghanistan. They are hand-knotted from handspun wool and have a very stylized floral and all-over pattern, borrowing largely from Baluch and Tajik tribal influences. These rugs are very durable and mostly come in smaller sizes. This one is 2'9" x 4'4".
The colors are camel, cream, dark navy and red. (see photo)
Although new, the exact date it was made is unknown, sometime between 2000 and now. It is however in new condition without soiling, holes, wear spots, etc.
I own many of these rugs and they are very nice on wood floors and a bit extraoridnary.
