The Nines is one of downtown Portland's luxury hotels. The building at one time was a large historic department store, the exterior was retained and the interior underwent major renovation. The 7 story atrium in the center of the hotel provides a beautiful light filled space.  The entire hotel is a rufuge of nostalgic, modern decor, influenced by fashion. The rooftop restaurant and bar provide beautiful city and river views, and the food is amazing.

Trip Advisor gives the Nines a 4.5 rating!  This would be great for a special getaway.
