Description
Located in Kennebunk, Maine, the Astronomical Society of Northern New England is an all-volunteer non-profit educational organization founded in 1982 to promote public awareness of astronomy.
A Star Party is an event where astronomers (even amateur ones) get together and to view the night sky through telescopes.
Star Parties are held at our Starfield Observatory in West Kennebunk Maine.
We have two telescopes: an 8" f/15 Zeiss-Jena refractor and a 16" Meade LX200 GPS Schmidt-Cassegrain.
We view the Sun (with special filters), planets, galaxies, constellations, nebulae and star clusters.
