The Kampong of NTBG online auction fundraiser is now open.

Breaking a long standing tradition, we did not host our annual Bali Hai event this year. Bali Hai has been part of The Kampong’s tradition for over 25 years and has become a legendary garden party in Miami. After Hurricane Irma, The Kampong was not ready to hold such an event to our usual standards and neither were our vendors and restaurants.

One of the most anticipated aspects of the event is the silent auction, offering up a wide range of desirable items for bidding. Our staff always enjoys watching the action of people circling around desired items, waiting to the last minute to add their best bid. Our goal this year is to hold an online auction to continue the auction tradition we have held for so long. Mark your calendars! Our online auction is scheduled to start on October 8th. We will have a variety of rare plants, unique items and exclusive experiences up for bid.

Perhaps the most important person in American agricultural history, Dr. David Fairchild brought in many of the best varieties of plants, lending genetic material for agriculturists to further select modern varieties. In essence, Dr. Fairchild brought in the precursors of the food we eat today. Your support ensures the preservation of Dr. Fairchild's estate, private collection and its pivotal role in Coconut Grove history.
