Sponsoring a park bench is a time-honored way to remember a loved one. The Kampong has several memorial benches in strategic places, and have become part of the appeal of The Kampong. Myriad photographs show off the trademark red sitting bench on The Point. Our seaside location takes a toll on wood benches however, and they need repairing every few years. Our staff chose teak as the replacement material for benches, for its resistance to salt air, and its heaviness that makes for stable seating.
