This spiral-bound softcover sheet music book contains hymn tune improvisations arranged for organ. All the pieces have general organ registrations, the full organ score, upper, lower and pedal. The purpose of this collection is to offer fresh harmonizations (free accompaniments) to hymntunes that are in at least two current hymnals and for which there is a dearth of alternate accompaniments. Fifty outstanding church musicians have been invited to contribute one or more settings. Some did more than one setting for each tune. Because hymnals vary in the key for a tune occasionally modulations are included to help you get easily into the key of the setting in this volume. Hinshaw, 1984. 100 pages.
