The Northwood Foundation is gearing up to present Mr. Joe Shannon with a special honour at the 21st annual Live More Awards on Saturday, June 1st. Mr. Shannon will be celebrated for his lifelong practice of giving back and his contributions to the community as he receives the 2019 Hedley G. Ivany Live More Award.
The Live More Awards raises money to support the many programs and services offered by Northwood but not funded by government. Initiatives supported by the Northwood Foundation include mental health programs, a dementia friendly fitness centre and a community garden.
Along with this award, six other members of the Northwood community will be recognized for their contributions to research, innovation, advocacy, diversity, community and loving care at Northwood. The recipients not only reflect the attributes, principles and values of Northwood but work in their communities to truly make a difference in the life of its residents.
