Be part of the fun! Donate an item as a team to the online auction:
Grab your colleagues and get creative - contribute to the auction as a team!
Past (super successful) team donations have included:
- Covering a colleague's desk in tin foil (or other desk/office "sabotage") when they're out of town,
- Custom Bloody Mary bar or ice cream sundae station for the winner's team, provided by the donating team,
- Free gas for a month (pool your money as a team and donate 4 gift cards to cover the winner's gas for 4 weeks), and
- Filling a colleague's car with balloons for a fun surprise when they try to leave work for the day.
Submit your own item to the online auction:
Are you a Crafter? Artist? Baker? Have some event tickets laying around that you think someone may enjoy? Have a unique experience you can offer up (think brewery tours, renting out a vacation home, serving as a caterer...)?
Donate these items and experiences for your colleagues to bid on and enjoy!
None of those apply, but you still want to donate?
No problem! Try something like this:
- Create a gift basket filled with items that fit a theme, like: gifts for a new baby, a "shelf full" of books for kids or adults, a "date night" theme, or a "candy extravaganza";
- Offer to supply the winner with coffee from a local coffee shop every Friday during summer;
- Volunteer to buy a colleague a breakfast sandwich every Monday for a month; or
- Commit to bringing a coworker a pie of their choice on National Pi Day (3.14).
Not every donation requires that you splash out cash.
Consider a donation of your time and services, like:
- Volunteer to babysit for a night so a colleague can enjoy a date night, free of charge;
- Offer to clean someone's desk at work once a month all year;
- Donate your services in the spring or fall to assist with a coworker's backbreaking yard work (weeding, raking, laying mulch, etc);
- Volunteer a sparkling car wash, by hand, on a day of the winner's choosing;
- Do you play an instrument, or have a great skill to share? Offer free lessons!
You don't have to spend a lot to make a big difference to the auction!
