Under the watchful and innovative eye and hand of Chef Moses “Moki” Tavares, Dom DeLuca’s makes their own pastas, pizza dough, sauces, dressing and desserts in-house – fresh from scratch – and serve local fresh fish, Big Island beef, greens, veggies, fruit and ice cream from the island’s esteemed local farmers, ranchers and vendors. 

The name Dom DeLuca is the name of owner Harry Wishard’s grandfather and fits in nicely with the ambiance of the restaurant.  Harry and his wife, Maria Jamarillo, had always wanted to own a restaurant and the opportunity presented itself.  It helps that Harry Wishard Gallery is next door and beckons for a visit before or after a delicious meal! 

And yes, that is THE Harry Wishard – an inspired and inspiring island artist who works in oils and has a gift for capturing the stunning colors and light of his “home” island.  Born and raised here, and from small kid time a serious hiker and hunter who was constantly surrounded by the beauty of the island, Harry discovered a love for art at an early age. 

Consequently, cascading waterfalls, remote valleys, rainforests, dynamic skies and breathtaking coastlines – often from a perspective only viewed by a serious hiker - provide an endless source of subject matter for his realistic landscapes that fill the walls of the friendly Italian restaurant and gallery next door.
