Learn to make a traditional Haku-Style Lei Po'o (head lei) with Angela Thomas of Waimea. Perhaps best known for her dedicated early childhood advocacy, Angela is also a gifted lei maker and enjoys the gathering of flora as much as the actual haku work.  


She will provide some of the flowers and greenery though participants may bring as well.  Everyone will learn to prepare the flowers, ferns and other greenery, then haku a beautiful lei!  You will love wearing what you make!  


Pandemic safety protocols in the Mala'ai School Garden include all guests sharing proof of being vaccinated or a negative Covid test within the past 72 hours, plus wearing a mask - unless or until these are no longer required by the HIDOE.    


Bidding begins at $80 for a “bubble” of up to 8 guests.  This certificate is perfect for gathering together a group of your own friends or as a gift to family or friends for them to bring together their own group!      

Special Instructions

The fortunate winning bidder of this item will receive an email to confirm pick up of this gift certificate from Waimea Middle School, or it can be mailed to you here in Hawaii or elsewhere in the US. 


Class will have to be at a time when students are not on campus - most likely a weekend.  Ideally it will scheduled with Angela Thomas about a month ahead of time.
