Oil
13" x 13" x 1"
Katherine Honey is renewed by painting, like a wonderful vacation. Whatever priorities and concerns existed before she raises her brush disappear. Hours evaporate and she is refreshed and ready to focus on what needs to be done. Katherine is an avid supporter of the arts. She has organized photography and art exhibits and contributes many works to fundraising efforts. Presently, she is a member of the AAM and the Shovel Town Cultural District Art Co-op/Gallery in Easton, MA.
Usually, Katherine's paintings favor sunny skies. At an oil painting workshop, the presenter asked attendees to use a photo reference Katherine had taken in Florida as a model for inclement weather. The presenter felt the texture of Katherine's clouds in this painting reflected the storm she experienced and asked her how she was able to capture the texture. Katherine responded, "Just swished a bit of paper towel here and there."
