Glass
19.5" x 5" x 5"
Donated by: L'Attitude Art Gallery. The donor has graciously agreed to start the bidding at $300.
Following his BFA in Sculptural Studies in 1993 from Maryland Institute of Art, Lynn Everett Read apprenticed as a glass blower with Anthony Corradetti, Dimitri Michaelides & Robert Gardner. He then worked as an assistant to Lino Tagliapietra, perfecting his skills in making cane. Lynn opened his own glass studio in 2001, where a small team of artists now produce one-of-a-kind objects, lighting, sculpture and a line of production ware for home decor.
Lynn Everett Read's murrini vessels play with colors and shapes. The design element, which is what he loves in these vessels, becomes a play on the matrix and pattern in the walls of the vessel, in contrast to the simplicity of the shape.
