Ann-Marie Gillett began her art career with a BS in art education from RIC with postgrad studies at RISD, Bennington College and Mass College of Art and Design. She taught art for 30 years at the Wheeler School and now exhibits in group and solo shows throughout NE. She uses a unique process that combines hand-painted artist tape on paper or cyanotypes. She is a member of 19 on Paper, the Seekonk Artist Network, and is a member of the Seekonk Arts Council because of her involvement in the arts. Cyanotypes are a printing method that often creates a mood of mystery. Gillett tries to enhance that mood by altering a print of natural forms using hand-painted tape, paint and colored pencil.

"Water Garden" evokes a dream-like state of a garden that began with a real subject, printed on paper, but evolves into the world the artist creates in response to the natural rhythms she experiences. The real and imagined co-exist harmoniously in the work Gillett creates.
