Peter A. Campbell is a graduate of Vesper George School of Art, Boston, MA. His paintings have been exhibited in galleries throughout the East Coast and his work is represented in many private collections. He has won numerous painting awards and honors. He is a former and distinguished member of the Board of Trustees of the AAM. In 2024 Peter was selected to exhibit his work in the AAM's "8 Visions" exhibition.
"Abandoned" was derived from the artist's visits to Bailey Island in Maine. Campbell discovered the sea worn abandoned boat resting on the shore line of Mackerel Cove. Later as he worked on the canvas in his studio, he wondered what kind of exciting stories of the sea this now weather-worn skeleton of a ship could tell.
