The Registry of Motor Vehicles received all the pertinent contact and payment information for the winning bidders' plates on Friday, May 14, 2004. They are currently in the process of generating the necessary registration paperwork and mailing it out to the winners. We anticipate these mailings will be sent out by no later than Friday, May 21, 2004, and you should receive it within 7 to 10 business days from that date. The response to the Low-Number License Plate Auction was wonderful. Thanks to all of you, the auction raised over $150,000!

The proceeds from the auction will to the MA 9/11 Fund in the continued support of the 250 famailies who lost a loved one on September 11, 2001, and who are still in need of help. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Commonwealth Security Trust which funds education and memorials for police and fire departments aross the Commonwealth.

To find out if you are the final winning bidder, visit the plate number in the catalog and click on the bid history. Please note that the final online high bids for the High Interest Plates, which were brought into the live auction, may not be the final winning bids.

If you were not a winning bidder, don't despair! You will have another chance to bid on the remaining plates that did not receive a bid. There might still be a favorite available you overlooked the first time. Details on this second auction will be available in the coming weeks.
