Third and Revised Edition.
Brown, Theophilus, 1811-1879.
Title: Letters of ... / selected by Sarah Theo. Brown.
Imprint: Worcester : [s.n.], 1898.
Description: 137 p. ; cm. (8vo)
Theophilus Brown was one of Thoreau's two Worcester friends ("disciples"), the other being H. G. O. Blake.
Van Wyck mentions Brown (and also Blake) in THE FLOWERING OF NEW ENGLAND. A descendant of the Browns gave the family's copy of the Maxham daguerreotype to the Thoreau Society a few decades ago. Thoreau is not mentioned much in the volume, however (Mrs. Brown did a lot of slashing).
