Most of us are physically healthy and able to enjoy and participate in many activities like sporting and cultural events, parties and family gatherings.

Now imagine how different those experiences might be if you were challenged with a serious illness. You might be confined to a hospital bed, separated from friends and family. You might be slowed by crutches or a wheelchair. You might spend lonely nights with little to take your mind off of the pain. You're probably anxious and afraid.

Starlight Children's Foundation tries to take away some of that fear and anxiety.

Working with more than 1000 hospitals, the Foundation provides an impressive menu of both in-hospital and outpatient programs and services. A leader in delivering distractive entertainment, Starlight's programs benefit over 100,000 children each month.

We address the needs of seriously ill children and their families through five core programs, some directed specifically to the hospital environment, others designed to support a child's eventual return to the home and a daily routine. Understanding that when a child is sick the whole family suffers, our programs always incorporate the entire family. Worldwide services are provided for seriously, chronically and terminally ill children, aged 4 through 18 years.

With international headquarters located in Los Angeles, the Starlight Children's Foundation is able to brighten children's lives through a network of chapters located in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.
