Description

This close up photograph of willow leaves in black and white will be a treasured piece for your home or office. The photo, which measures 6.5" x 9.5" and is mounted and matted to 14" x 16," is hand printed in toned gelatin silver on heavy weight fiber paper, then dry mounted on museum board with mat.

Photographer Scott Edwards uses a time honored process of gelatin silver to create images of luminescence, clarity and feeling for texture. The three-dimensional silver granules present in the paper emulsion reflect light differently that the usual inked surface, giving the photographs a lively dimensionality.

The photo was taken in the upper Fox River, WI. Scott describes the process: "to photograph this area, one needs to slow down and drink in the character of the valley." View more of his work at the Main Street Art Works website.
