Description
Formatted in a semicircular shape, this woodcut, inspired by a trip to Florence in 2001, is one of an edition of 10. The image is 4" x 4.75," and was printed in black on BFK Rives heavyweight cream paper.
Max-Karl writes that "my work is informed by a fascination with myth, history and language, and with the expression of spiritual impulses through words and images. Influences of Maya and Aztec sculpture, the woodcuts of Hokusai and Hiroshige, British wood engravers and woodcutters of the twentieth century are all apparent there."
