Description

You'll love the bright colors of "Clematis," a white line woodcut. Artist Norma Pfaff carved a basswood block, painted it with watercolors and printed it on damp Rives BFK paper. The carved lines in the block remain free of color, resulting in the white lines that sharpen the impact of the print's vivid purples and greens. It measures 6" x 7 1/2."

The process is similar to work done by Provincetown printmakers in the early 1900s. To see more of her work, visit the Washington Printmakers Gallery website.
