Description

A lovely bluegreen bowl from ceramic artist Jane Woodside. Measuring approximately 11" in diameter, it is beautiful filled with fruit or floating candles, and equally lovely empty, the better to showcase the interlocking swirl design.

This, her most popular design, is painted by hand in wax directly on the black clay. Glaze is applied next, leaving recessed black lines where the wax was painted. The wax then burns off when the bowls are fired in the kiln. To see more of her work, visit the Arts and Crafts Cooperative, Inc. (ACCI Gallery)website.
