Description

Artist Christy Fisher recycles glass to create distinctive jewelry. Her carnivale glass is made by applying a layer of gold to the surface in a process called fuming. The effect is a surface iridescence that reflects many refractive colors. These earrings she named "bearpaws" because of their resemblance to bear tracks on a trail. The colors are jet, ruby and topaz.

Christy Fisher is a jeweler and art-to-wear designer who spent the earlier part of her career as a seamstress to 60's and 70's era rock and roll bands, including members of Derek and the Dominoes (Eric Clapton), Wings, and Frank Zappa. To see more of her jewelry and wearable art, visit the Jerome Artists Cooperative Gallery site.
