Description
A member of the Here je Cooperative models the Bogolon Handbag produced by the co-op. It is 15" x 18" and sports a wooden handle. It is handwoven on a loom, then hand-dyed and hand mud-painted in the traditional Malian art of Bogolon. Each bag is unique. Yours will have the same coloring as the one shown but may have slight variations in pattern.
Special Instructions
Here je Cooperative was formed in 2004 to help young women stop begging on the streets of Bamako, Mali, West Africa. Young women go from begging to business women is 18 months because of skills training they receive at the cooperative center. This project was funded by the Fabric of Life Foundation, formed by long-time credit union activist Carol Schillios.
