Description

"1941"
Limited Edition of 1941 Photographs

In 1941, Joe DiMaggio hit safely in 56 consecutive games -- a feat that many experts consider the only "unbreakable" record in baseball.

Though his streak was ended on July 17, two "miraculous" fielding plays credited to Cleveland Indians' Ken Keltner, "Joltin' Joe" proceeded directly thereafter, to hit safely in 16 more consecutive games before his bat relented. 72 out of 73 -- typical of "The Yankee Clipper" who in 13 years with the Yankees led the team to 10 American League pennants and 9 World Series Championships.

Joe DiMaggio signed this limited edition of photographs in front of a Notary Public, May 8, 1990 in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

This 16x20" photograph is handsomely matted and framed. Auctioned here is one of the 40 artist's proofs, also signed before the Notary Public.
