The Huntington Theatre Company announces the 2008 Spotlight Spectacular!

Mark your calendars now for the Huntington’s 2008 Spotlight Spectacular! Gala benefit event!  This event promises to be the most spectacular yet, as we honor Trustee Carol Deane and her husband Disque with The Wimberly Award (the Huntington’s highest honor), for their outstanding support, contributions, and work on behalf of the Huntington.

We are delighted to have Huntington Trustee Kristine Scoon and her husband, Davey joining us once again as Event Chairs, after chairing a very successful 2007 Spectacular!

This year, once again, the Huntington will offer some of its fantastic auction items for online bidding.The online auction will open in April of 2008 and will run through May 2, just days before the event.

Among the exciting auction items for sale at the 2007 Spectacular! were a Tony Awards package with tickets to the 2007 awards and post-show dinner, concert tickets to see The Police at Fenway Park, numerous Red Sox/Yankees tickets, an Executive Suite for 22 at a 2007 Boston Red Sox game, “beer for a year” from Sam Adams, and several golf outings.

The proceeds from this annual benefit provide vital support for the programs of the Huntington, including its award-winning Youth, Education, and Community Outreach initiatives.  These dynamic programs help the Huntington engage the next generation of theatre artists and audience members.
