The University of the Middle East Project (UMEP) is an international institution of higher learning for the people of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).  Through series of dynamic institutes and education programs, UME promotes academic excellence, regional cooperation, critical thinking, inclusivity, and open inquiry. UME's ultimate goal is to create a system of interconnected academic centers throughout the MENA region which embody these values.

Founded in 1997, UME has empowered educators through academic programs in the U.S., Morocco, and Spain.  UME's curricula includes training not only in cutting-edge pedagogic techniques, but in conflict resolution, civic engagement, and cross-cultural communication.
