ISES is a professional society dedicated to the special events industry. The organization was founded in 1987 to foster enlightened performance through education while promoting ethical conduct. ISES works to join professionals to focus on the "event" as a whole, rather than its individual parts. ISES members consist of those in the special events industry such as: caterers, event producers, venues, entertainers, decorators, rental companies, event planners, marketing/PR firms or consultants, audio-visual companies, florists, printing and signage, and any other company that plans events or supplies goods or services for events. ISES has grown to include over 5,000 professionals in over 43 chapters globally. The solid peer network ISES provides helps special events professionals produce outstanding results for clients while establishing positive working relationships with other colleagues. In short, ISES unites us as industry.
ISES AZ was launched for several reasons. Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the nation and the population is rapidly growing. The corporate, tourism and event industries here continue to respond, and expand. The southwest is host to a plethora of high profile events, ranging from political to corporate, special occasions to sporting events, festivals and concerts to trade and consumer shows. The sheer number of those involved in the planning and production of events in Arizona is at an all time high, and ISES AZ will be an extremely useful resource for anyone interested in advancing their knowledge of and contacts in the local special event industry. Starting a local chapter of ISES will allow us to unite and promote our industry as a whole. The goals of ISES AZ are to provide professional education that is pertinent and timely to our membership, as well as to provide unique and dynamic networking opportunities.
