Mountain Road School Fifth Annual Dinner Dance & Auction
The online portion of Mountain Road School's Fifth Annual Dinner Dance & Auction is now open. The auction will run from May 8, 2007 to June 1, 2007, with the live event taking place on June 2, 2007 from 6 PM to 10 PM at the Stephentown Fire Hall, 35 Grange Hall Road, Stephentown, NY. At this event we will be honoring the MRS Theater Arts staff : Meg Agnew, Cindy Parrish & Mark Kelso. We will also be dancing to the music of local blues band, kid kurt, pictured here. Reservations are suggested and can be made by phoning the school at (518) 794-8520. We hope you will join us for the evening's festivities!
Proceeds go to Mountain Road School in order to support our program, which supports, challenges and empowers the whole child within a loving and collaborative community of parents, teachers and students. A Mountain Road education fosters academic and creative excellence, ethical and spiritual development, engagement with the world, and creates a foundation for lifelong learning.
Auction items are varied, with something for everyone. This year, you will notice some new and exciting items from CMarketplace that we are fortunate to be able to offer on consignment. When you bid over and above the opening bid on one of these fabulous items, Mountain Road School will receive the proceeds after the cost amount. All other items that are designated as originating from Mountain Road School are from our generous donors, both returning and new, who believe in our mission. The school will receive all the profits on these items.
How does it work? Start by previewing our catalog. When you see something you like, click on the item and you will be prompted to register (new user) or sign in and bid (user). Choose a fun screen name, if you prefer to be anonymous! From there, you can either bid on the item or put it in your Watch List. After the close of the auction, the winning bidder's credit card will be securely processed. Following the processing, the winner will be notified when to pick up the items.

Mountain Road School's philosophy of education stresses the importance of nurturing all areas of human development in the child as well as the unique pace of each child's growth socially, emotionally, and academically. Communication skills - so important in personal growth and so vital to success in today's world - are given an opportunity to flourish.
Children feel their importance within the group and are guided to be positive members of their school community. In this warm, supportive atmosphere each child's development is nourished, and each child's potential flourishes. This is what we mean by Heartfelt Education. Giving a child a strong sense of self and of one's place within the community and in the greater world is key to our philosophy. As a small school, we can provide many opportunities for interactions among children of all ages and classes.
