Westside German Shepherd Rescue is a 501c nonprofit animal rescue committed to saving all types of German Shepherd dogs from high kill shelters and adopting them to loving and qualified homes. Founded in 2003 by Robin Jampol and other volunteers, WGSR has saved and placed over 2500 German shepherd dogs, irresistible shepherd mixes and even the occasional feline.

So many pets in Southern California are loved and treasured, others are neglected and abandoned in shelters. We live side by side where one world knows little of the other. Imagine walking into a crowded animal shelter, seeing  the dogs get up in anticipation, their tails wagging, eyes fixed on yours hoping you have come for them. Our volunteers witness this everyday.  It is such a tragedy that beautiful, young and healthy dogs have to die, more so in Southern California than anywhere. How are we letting this happen?

People always say to us, “You can’t save them all,”but through your donations you have the power to help WGSR make a difference.  Our hearts are in the right place, but as you all know veterinary care and the cost of boarding is tremendously high. We have the volunteers; we know what to do and how to find wonderful homes; we promote spaying and neutering;we just need your support to continue what we are doing and to help save more lives. We are interested in creating educational outreach programs for children. We need your help not only for our immediate needs,but for our future goals as well.
