Marina Pogosyan is a professional musician, educator and composer with over 20 years experience. She enjoys sharing the experience of discovering musical expression with students of all ages. Her students have ranged in age from 3 months through 80 years old. Above all else, she believes that learning should be fun! Marina is especially adept at tailoring her approach to each student's gifts, interests and challenges. She knows that the process of making music is one of the most rewarding and joyful life-long activities.
Marina's varied musical interests have led to performances in venues ranging from concert halls and houses of worship to major rock venues, recording studios and coffee houses. She is also a much sought-after accompanist for vocalists, choirs and instrumentalists of all genres of music.
As a music educator, she calls upon her multi-layered musical experience to provide her students with a rich and diverse curriculum. For her, it is a great honor and responsibility to be entrusted with nurturing the musical discovery of her students. She loves to teach, from beginners in both group and private settings, through advanced pianists with many years of lessons behind them.
Marina holds a Bachelor of Music degree from California State University, Northridge and a Master of Fine Arts degree from California Institute of the Arts, with emphasis on Piano Performance. She is a recipient of numerous awards, including the Music Teachers' Association of California STAR award.
