Kroger's 2008 Passport to a Cure is Now Closed and we off to the Gala. The live event will take place on January 25, 2008 at the InterContinental Houston Hotel.

Passport to a Cure will help MDA Houston provide research and healthcare services thanks to the support of our many sponsors.  We would like to recognize David Johnson, President & CEO of Yokogawa Corporation of America, for his continued support of this exciting event.  This year we are pleased to announce that Mr. Johnson has been chosen as MDA's Houston Gulf Coast Region Ambassador of Hope.

Auction items range from exotic vacation getaways to donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise.  So, tell your friends, family, community. Let the bidding begin!

IMPORTANT REMINDER!  You may continue to bid by proxy which means a volunteer will bid on your behalf at the live event.  If you are the winning bidder, you will be notified Monday, January 28.

Please Note: There are 2 categories of auction items - those that will be offered only online and those that will go to the event.  The highest bid received online will be the opening bid at the event.  If no higher bids are received at the event, then the online bidder will win the item.  If shipping is required, your account will be charged to cover the cost.

Kroger and MDA

The fund-raising efforts of Kroger's employees, customers and business associates on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) have resulted in a contribution of several million dollars.

This year Kroger plans to break their own annual goal and anticipates Shamrock sales alone to exceed $200,000.  Kroger reached these  milestones in its contributions to MDA over a 20+ year partnership, which has been focused on the continuing quest for a cure for neuromuscular disease.

Thanks to the leadership of Bill Breetz, President of the Southwest KMA and last year's MDA Ambassador of Hope honoree, enormous progress is being made in the fight against neuromuscular diseases. Through the continued efforts of committed members of the Kroger family, we're assured to help bring hope today to the lives of families affected by neuromuscular disease while providing hope in the way of treatments and cures in the future.
