CH&LA Hall of Fame/Education Foundation Auction is now open.  It will run from August 19, 2008 to September 12, 2008. All proceeds go to CH&LA in support of our Education Foundation.  What is the Education Foundation?  In the past year the Education Foundation has participated in many activities.  Some highlights include:   

• "We Welcome Service Animals” is a national campaign created by the California Hotel & Lodging Association Educational Foundation and made possible by funding from the American Hotel & Lodging Foundation and the American Express Foundation to teach people in the hospitality industry and law enforcement how to improve service to disabled guests who depend on service animals for assistance.
• Two new high school hospitality and lodging programs starting in September: one in Sacramento and the other in Los Angeles. Both programs are using the AH&LA START curriculum and are striving for industry certification.
• A record number of scholarship applications were received and 16 scholarships were awarded to hospitality students and working professionals totaling over $25,000!
• Three students awarded CH&LA Education Foundation scholarships obtained acceptance to SDSU's Hospitality Tourism Management program and are the first in their families to ever attend college!
