"C&O Canal Great Falls" was painted by Alice Schmidt, 87. She began painting after she retired, but has been interested in art since high school. She paints primarily landscapes in watercolors, as in this painting.  Schmidt, an English teacher, was raised in Indianapolis and now lives in Northern Virginia.
