"Vermont Sugar House" was painted by Alice Schmidt, 87.  She began painting after she retired, but has been interested in art since high school.  She paints primarily watercolors, as in this painting.  Schmidt, formely an English teacher, was raised in Indianapolis and now lives in Northern Virginia.
