"Cathedral Rock" was painted by Miriam Rothchild, 82, a native of Washington, DC. She has been painting for more than 20 years, since her retirement from a career as an Army nurse. Rothchild has five grandchildren and lives in Leisure World in Montgomery County, Maryland. She now paints primarily watercolors as in this painting, which was commissioned by the ASCP Foundation for a live auction at the Foundation's dinner event at ASCP's 2006 Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. The painting was donated back to the Foundation for inclusion in this auction.
