The 2004 Fava Ranch is a very feminine, elegantly styled zinfandel - almost pinot-like, with aromas of red cherries, raspberries, freshly-tilled earth, and cream. It was bottled unfiltered after 15 months in French oak. In 2005, Tom Feeney Ranch (planted 1926) was picked later than ever before, with the result being easily one of Carlisle?s finest Zinfandels. Dark ruby-purple in color, verging on opaque with perfumed aromas of black raspberries, boysenberries, and bittersweet chocolate. The 2006 Dry Creek valley saw the inclusion of 14% petite syrah for a medium-dark to dark ruby wine with scents of red and black cherries mixed with hints of iron, earth, and freshly roasted coffee beans.
