Celebrating 90 years of Rugs
In 2007, Capel Rugs celebrates its 90th anniversary as America's oldest and largest privately-owned rug manufacturer and importer. An industry leader since 1917, Capel was the first to produce braided rugs, and today we still manufacture braids in our North Carolina factories and sell more than 30 different varieties of these unique Capel rugs in our stores.

In addition to our own braids, our stores offer an unrivaled selection of rugs including traditional hand knots, one-of-a-kind rugs, casual designs, and contemporary rugs–more than 10,000 styles to meet the decorating needs of every consumer. From the finest handmade selections to innovative outdoor rugs, we offer more rugs in more categories, and our customers can explore all of the possibilities displayed in our stores on state-of-the-art racks instead of stacks of rugs on the floor.
