We’ve been doing business as Joe Jones Ski & Sports, The Great Outdoors and most recently Wilderness House in Boston. Each one of our stores is unique so we welcome you to explore each store's own web page. The first Joe Jones Ski & Sports opened back in 1955 by Joseph Jones and his wife Ruth Jones Trumbell. They had same mission we have today; provide quality products and outstanding service at a reasonable price. That’s why we’ve been in business for more than 50 years.

We pride ourselves in providing exceptional custom boot fitting services to maximize performance and guarantee ultimate comfort. The ski boot is the most important part of the overall ski package and we want to ensure you’re fitted properly. We are ski and snowboard specialists and our staff is the real deal having skied and tested most boots, skis and boards on the market.

In warmer months we add a great selection of bikes for all levels and abilities as well as kayaks, canoes, hiking, camping, climbing, hunting and fishing products. The list goes on, and each store may carry a variety of different products with specialists available to answer any of your technical questions.

If you’re looking to rent or want to ensure that a product is right for you, most of our stores provide rental/demo services for all abilities. We have skis, snowboards, snowshoes, ice skates, cross country gear, boats, tubes and bikes available to rent or test out prior to a purchase. Please check out each store for specific rentals available.

Most stores also provide a service shop to help maintain your investment. We offer ski repairs, tunes and bike service seasonally.
